Ancient Symbols, Hidden Messengers, and the Art of Remembering
Have you ever felt a presence just beyond what your eyes can see?
A whisper in your ear when no one’s there… A sudden knowing, or a sign that stops you in your tracks?
That’s the space Spirit Guides occupy — they’re not just myth or fantasy. They are frequency, energy, ancient memory, and quiet protectors woven into our everyday lives.
In my work as an artist, Spirit Guides have become the foundation of my creative process — and my spiritual one. They show up in paint, marks, symbols, and layered stories. They arrive whether I’m ready or not.
But… what is a Spirit Guide, really?

What is a Spirit Guide, Really?
It’s a question with infinite answers — and the longer I sit with it, the more I realize: Spirit Guides aren’t just one thing. They’re not confined to a single face, name, or tradition.
Spirit Guides are energy in form.
They are the quiet ones walking beside us…The frequency that wraps around your shoulders when the world feels heavy…The ancestral hum in your bones reminding you: You’ve done this before.
Across cultures and generations, Spirit Guides have taken on many names —Ancestors. Protectors. Animal totems. Deities. Archangels.
Some arrive as shimmering light, others as whispered instincts. Some look like your grandmother, wise and watchful. Others are faceless, known only by the symbols, colors, and energy they carry.
For me, they show up in paint.
In the marks and layers that emerge when I surrender to the process. They come whether I’m ready or not, bringing messages woven in ancient symbols — protection, strength, resistance, and deep love.
But Spirit Guides are more than the guides of folklore. They are:
The unseen hand nudging you toward the right door
The quiet knowing that keeps you safe
The energy that says “you’re not alone” in the hardest seasons
The cosmic witness reminding you of your purpose
And they’re not reserved for the “spiritual elite” — they belong to everyone. Your guide might be a fierce warrior spirit, walking with you through change.Or a gentle, nurturing presence reminding you to rest. They could be an ancestor, an ancient archetype, or a light you’ve known long before this lifetime.
Spirit Guides are memory keepers. They carry the symbols of where we’ve been — and the energy of where we’re going.
When I paint them, I don’t just create an image — I translate a presence.A guide is not decoration…They’re a portal.A reflection of your resilience, your story, and the unseen realm that’s been here all along.
The Many Faces of a Spirit Guide
Spirit Guides don’t all look the same — they don’t all feel the same either.
Your guide could be:
Your grandmother, whispering love across the veil
An ancient ancestor, carrying the codes of your lineage
A celestial being — an archangel, a light form, a flicker of pure frequency
A face you’ve never seen before, yet feels deeply familiar
A part of your higher self, showing up as protector and mirror
The truth is, Spirit Guides aren’t here to control your path. They’re here to walk beside you — guardians of your potential, companions for your shadow moments, and sometimes, fierce voices of resistance when you need them most.
In many cultures, guides have been known as:
Ancestors
Guardians
Animal totems
Deities
Angels
Energetic echoes
Who they are for you depends on what your soul most needs to remember.
The Ancient Art of Mark Making
You’ll notice my Spirit Guides are not traditional portraits. They don’t emerge from photo references — they come through intuitively, guided by frequency, energy, and symbolism that often feels ancient… older than me… older than all of us.
The markings on their faces? Those are messages.
Dots, spirals, lines, triangles — these are not random design choices. They are the visual language of:
Ancestral protection
Strength and sovereignty
Hidden codes for awakening
Resistance to forgetting who we are
I didn’t set out to make this mark-making part of my process. It happened naturally, like muscle memory my body carried without realizing it. The first time I painted a Spirit Guide, I was halfway through when the symbols arrived — unplanned, yet undeniable.
Since then, I’ve realized I’m not just painting faces — I’m translating the energy of guides into something we can see, hold, and honor.
These marks are part of a lineage older than we remember. They echo tribal face paint, ceremonial tattoos, and ancient symbols from cultures around the world — woven through time as protection, identity, and spiritual connection.
Signs from Spirit Guides: The Everyday Magic
Guides don’t just speak through art — they show up in the small, quiet ways:
A feather where there shouldn’t be one
Repeating numbers or dreams
The same animal crossing your path again and again
A sudden knowing
That tiny nudge saying “go this way instead”
They’re subtle… until they’re not.
The paintings I create capture these moments in layered form — energy frozen in color, symbol, and linework.
Right now, I’m offering commission spots for those ready to bring their Spirit Guide into form — not just as a painting, but as an energetic portal, infused with ancient symbols, intuitive markings, and your unique soul story.
